THE passes quickly with television. Consider this, for example: If CBS were to repeat each of the Captain Kangaroo shows aired since 1955, broadcasting one each day starting next spring, the replays would continue until the year 2000. Or this: More than one third of all Americans now living have been born since David Brinkley first became co-anchorman on the NBC nightly news in 1956.
